Athanasios Koumenteris’ second personal album containing twelve pieces of solo guitar, composed and 

performed by him. 

Athanasios Koumenteris holds a PhD in Composition, from the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, on “Presentation of Composers of Spectral Music and Composition of works with direct references to Spectral Music”. He has conducted postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music Research & Applications [ERIMEE], focusing thematically on the relationship between composer and digital technology with emphasis on the processes of analysis/synthesis between natural and digital sound. 

The pieces of the current album are the product of his special relationship with the guitar, as a composer and a soloist. They have been composed over the last 15 years and include compositional techniques based on extended harmony, pitch class sets, the twelve-tone series, as well as material produced through the composer’s interaction with libraries from the OpenMusic program (IRCAM).
