KUNE (which means « Together » in Espéranto) is a unique songbook, which combines dozens of languages from all over the world to sing about peace and common concerns of humankind. Original texts were written by french composer Arnaud Fillion. Mostly poetic, with various levels of interpretation, they primarily focus on peace, fraternity, ecology, and the interconnectedness of individual actions to the greater whole, transcending differences and boundaries. A hundred of volunteers from all over the world joined this project to translate this material into about 50 languages. In the writing process, Fillion used those translations and let them interact through the division of the choir: each translation is used in fragments, and the vocal arrangements are always taking into consideration the common and distinct sounds of the languages. To aid in pronunciation and contribute to the realization, all translations have been recorded, read by translators or native volunteers, with the intention of serving as phonetic references for singers.
This recording is a world premiere.
