The inspiration for continuing the „Szczecin Compositions” project remains, as ever, the creative power of the local composing community. After the release of the first album, it became even clearer how much valuable music is being created around us and how subsequent works form a vibrant, ever-evolving history of our city. „Szczecin Compositions vol. 2” is a natural evolution of this idea. It is an encounter with the music of creators who are close to us—not only artistically

but also personally—individuals who have been shaping the musical landscape of Szczecin for years. Each featured composer brings their own language, sensitivity, and story, together forming a remarkably diverse portrait of the contemporary music of our region.

In presenting this album to you, we wish above all to express our respect and gratitude to Szczecin composers — those who have built this community over the years and those who give it a new sound every day. We hope that this record will serve not only as an artistic document but also as a testament to the place, the people, and the music that is constantly being born right beside us.

Inspiracją do kontynuacji projektu „Kompozycje Szczecińskie” pozostaje niezmiennie twórcza siła szczecińskiego środowiska kompozytorskiego. Po realizacji pierwszego albumu jeszcze wyraźniej dostrzegliśmy, jak wiele wartościowej muzyki powstaje wokół nas i jak kolejne dzieła tworzą żywą, nieustannie rozwijającą się historię naszego miasta. „Kompozycje Szczecińskie vol. 2” są naturalnym rozwinięciem tej idei. To spotkanie z muzyką twórców, którzy są nam bliscy nie tylko

artystycznie, ale również osobiście, ludzi współtworzących od lat muzyczny krajobraz Szczecina.

Każdy z prezentowanych kompozytorów wnosi własny język, własną wrażliwość i własną opowieść, tworząc razem niezwykle różnorodny obraz współczesnej muzyki naszego regionu.

Oddając w Państwa ręce ten album, pragniemy przede wszystkim wyrazić szacunek i wdzięczność szczecińskim twórcom – tym, którzy przez lata budowali to środowisko, oraz tym, którzy każdego dnia nadają mu nowe brzmienie. Mamy nadzieję, że ta płyta stanie się nie tylko dokumentem artystycznym, ale także świadectwem miejsca, ludzi i muzyki, która nieustannie powstaje blisko nas.

Baltic Neopolis Quartet

A chamber ensemble emerging from Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, one of the most well known chamber orchestras in Poland.

The quartet consists of musicians associated with the orchestra for many years – graduates of renowned music academies in Poland and across Europe – united by openness to new ways of presenting classical music and by a desire to create projects that transcend traditional concert formats.

From the very beginning of its activity, Baltic Neopolis Quartet has consistently developed its own artistic language, combining classical chamber repertoire with contemporary music, original arrangements, and interdisciplinary projects.

A hallmark of the quartet is its courage in seeking new spaces for classical music. The ensemble performs not only in concert halls and philharmonic venues, but also in museums, industrial spaces, churches, art galleries, and open-air settings, creating performances marked by a distinctive atmosphere and close connection with audiences. The quartet has appeared at numerous festivals and artistic events in Poland and abroad, including performances in the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, China, Japan, and Iceland.

Its discography includes acclaimed recordings dedicated to composers associated with Szczecin, as well as collaborative projects with distinguished soloists including Vasko Vassilev and Joanna Tylkowska-Drożdż.
